About the client
Who they are
Mountain View Resort is a family holiday park at Shoalhaven Heads on the NSW South Coast, at the foot of Coolangatta Mountain and a 15-minute walk from Seven Mile Beach. Cabins, powered and en-suite sites, a 22-metre solar-heated pool with a spiral slide, a jumping pillow and mini golf, two hours from Sydney. Family owned and run since 1986, and a G'day Parks member park.
The two things the park changes most often were the two hardest for them to change. The tariffs sat in a deeply nested WordPress table that was risky for a non-technical person to touch. Every van and site that came up for sale in the park needed a whole new page built for it.
The solution
What Webics delivered
Mountain View Resort has been a Webics client for 12 years.
We rebuilt the site on the Webics platform, replacing WordPress with a static one. There are no plugins to patch and the pages load fast.
The park now edits the parts that change. The tariffs are updated in a screen built for that one job, and the sites and vans for sale are added, photographed and taken down by the park itself. Each listing gets its own page and its own web address, so it can be sent to a buyer or found in Google.
Signing in to that editor sends a one-time code to the park's own email address, so there is no password going around the office.
Bookings still run through the park's existing booking system, so nothing changed for the people taking reservations.
Old links still work. We took a full inventory of the web addresses on the old site and mapped every one of them onto the new site, each in a single hop, so a bookmark, a link in an old email or an older Google result lands where it should.
Their Google Analytics carried across the rebuild, so nothing they were already measuring starts again from zero.
On a phone the menu opens full screen. On a desktop, Stay and The Resort open a panel showing the real pages underneath them, each with a photograph.
Webics hosts and looks after the site.
